Lightning Flash Sunset Maroon Clownfish is a new designer clownfish from Tropic Sunset Aquatics.
Unique Lightning Flash pattern with areas of white which will turn to the Sunset coloration of Yellow/Orange in the lighting pattern areas when matured at 1.5-2.0 inches.
Taxonomy Premnas biaculeatus until 2021, when it has been changed to Amphiprion biaculeatus due to an article on May 5, 2021, in the journal Ichthyology & Herpetology.
Lineage is as follows; a Wild Caught (WC) Papua New Guinea (PNG) Lighting Maroon Clownfish (only 1 documented survived WC Lightning Maroon ever in captivity, until recently has died) from Matt Pedersen's original 1st aqua- cultured Lightning Maroon stock F1 (WC Lighting Maroon & PNG Maroon 2014) with one of the juveniles going to Sea and Reef which they paired with a WC PNG Maroon making another aqua cultured Lighting Maroon F1 stock (2015), We purchased a juvenile Lighting Maroon WYSIWYG (F1) from Sea and Reef's 1st aqua cultured Lighting Maroon's in 2015.
Our F1 Lighting Maroon (female) bred with a WC Sumatra Yellow Stripe Maroon Clownfish (male), this combination has unique yellow/orange lightning bars.
Not to be confused with the GoldX Lighting or Gold Lighting that are a combination of a Lighting Maroon bred with a Gold Nugget Maroon Clownfish.
